The Big Turkey Half Marathon, 10K, 5K races

On a newly developed course that is absolutely awesome, Oak Ridge Park in Union County, NJ is a runner s paradise. Paved paths along manicured lawns with birch, oak, and pine trees lining the mostly flat course. On weekday afternoons you ll see them galloping across well worn paths at a pace that is driven by the power that comes from being young. So, this 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Day event will happen on grounds that bring a historic element to a historic day. As tradition would have it everyone shows up, no matter the conditions. Run your race and you’ll be good to go for eatin and greetin later on. So, join us on this 3rd annual Thanksgiving Day event, The Big Turkey Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K, and make it happen!! All participants get a finisher medal and technical t-shirt. Overall Awards, for the top three male and female finishers in each distance and age group awards for each gender in age groups of 10, starting with 19 and under. This is becoming a classic holiday event in an amazing community! Let s do this!!! RACE DAY Show up ready to run approximately 30 minutes prior to the start. If you do not have your bib follow directions from staff. START TIMES (Possible change due to weather conditions) 9:30 AM - HALF MARATHON 9:35 AM - 10K RACE 9:40 AM - 5K RACE LOCATION: Start location is by the Oak Ridge Park. COURSE SUPPORT: Traditional water and gatorade support stations with paper cups. Also, power gels handed out to keep you going. Trash recepticals and volunteers on the course for all trash. AMENITIES Technical T-shirt, die cast finisher medal, plaque awards for top 3 overall and for age groups of 10. TIMING Every loop is timed in real time! Your family and friends can track you per loop. Video and images uploaded within 2 hours from the end of the race. AWARDS Overall Top three awards to male and female winners Age group awards for age groups of 10 years starting at 13 & under, 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, through 70 & Older (GOLDEN RUNNERS)
